Islam is a true and universal religion sent for all of humanity. It guides humanity in every aspect of life, whether collective or individual, when involved in worship or business and in moments of joy or sadness. In short, Islam gives complete guidance on how to live life the right way. In fact, every human being will only gain success when he leads his entire life according to the teachings of Islam. For this reason, Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has made it compulsory for every individual of this ummah to seek the knowledge of Deen.
Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
طلبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةً عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ
said:
Seeking knowledge is obligatory for every Muslim.
(Ibnu Maaja 224, Narrated by Anas)
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also specified that the teachers and students of Deen are the best of people among the Ummah..
He said:
خيركم من تعلم القرآن وعلمة
The best of you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it (to others).
He further said:
(Bukhaari 5027, Uthmaan Bin Affaan)
تعلموا العلم وعلاوة الثامن
Acquire knowledge and teach it to other people.
(Shu’abul Imaan 1742, Abu Bakr)
Therefore, the scholars and reformers of the Ummah from the time of the Sahabahs and during every era after them exerted themselves to educate the masses about the Deen and made untold sacrifices to spread it. It is because of their sacrifices that we have the Deen before us today in its pure form and It is also because of them that we have the names of Allah the Almighty and His Messenger on our tongues.
فَجَزاهُمُ اللَّهُ عَنَّا وَعَنْ جَمِيعِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
May Allah the Almighty grant them the best of rewards on our behalf and on behalf of all Muslims. Aameen.
